Ah, yes.  Silent Whining. 

I assume that you already know what regular whining is.  If not, Glen can tell you here.

If a situation would seem to call for whining but you sit there stoically, neither complaining nor doing anything about it, you are deemed to be whining "silently".  Which is to say, even though your mouth is shut, everybody in the vicinity knows exactly what you would be whining about, if only you were whining. And since everybody knows, it really makes no difference that you are not actually whining.  You are whining, if only silently. 

As always, expect abuse to follow.
