Glen got all fired up this year to fly some new style of light, powerful electric RC airplanes. They have enough of a power-to-weight ration that they are capable of hovering. For us, that meant that they would be easier to hit when we would shoot at them.
And hit them we did! On the left, you can see at least five holes in the wings that have been taped over, and a couple in the rear elevator, too. The wires on top were for some LED lights so that he could fly at night. We tried shooting it with our fireworks, potato cannons, and BB guns. Heck, we even flew it though a gas bomb. We knocked it out of the air a few times, but in the end, Glen had enough parts to keep it flying.
Leigh and Glen did some dog-fighting, too. I remember that someone got their streamer trimmed at one point, and there was one mid-air collision.
And there was the time that Leigh was concerned that his plane wasn't balanced quite right, so he let Glen fly it. Glen remarked that it felt pretty good to him and then proceeded to roll it right into a mesquite tree.
Glen even found the time to teach Caitlin to fly.
